Good day wololo.net readers and lurkers, it’s been a while since I’ve written an article here on wololo.net. Today I’ve come to share with you the ultimate overclocking plugin for the PS VITA, a very well known project of my own, PSV VSH Menu. (Because who else can write about a project better than the author himself right?!)
PSV VSH Menu v3.4 – Running with custom colour option as well as displaying some other useful info!
Why you should be using PSV VSH Menu:
- First and foremost – It’s a VSH Menu. It brings forth the nostalgic glory days of the PSP scene’s greatest CFW addition – The VSH Menu.
- It’s the only overclocking plugin that actually saves your clock rates for each game. Because who wants to open the VSH menu and manually apply clock rates every time? Even better, it allows you to choose clock rates depending on the game you’re playing. So you may want to overclock some, but keep others at default – and so it saves clock rates depending on the game you are playing.
- It’s also the only overclocking plugin (as of now) that fixes issues with games that reset the clock rates back to default after a certain transition. Games like World of Final Fantasy resets the clocks back to default every transition. This is no longer the case with v3.4.
- 5 slots to quickly launch apps. Do you want to quickly launch into a game or application without hitting home and scrolling for it? Well with the “Load Program” option, you can do just that. Be sure to edit the names and titleIDs in ur0:/data/vsh/launcher.cfg. You only have 5 slots to choose form so choose wisely!
- It can display a bunch of useful information like clock rates, battery percent, battery life time, battery temp, FPS all in one plugin. You also get to choose if you want to have these displayed on screen at all times or only when the VSH Menu combination is entered.
- VSH customization – Make it yours! Now it has the ability to use custom colours. You can learn how to use that option here!
- Ability to quickly reset, shutdown, suspend device all under one menu.
What does v3.4 bring:
As of v3.4 the many issues with overclocking plugins are now a myth. It allows you to set a timed interval to check if the clock rates have been reset by games. Default interval is 30 seconds – Please note this doesn’t overclock every 30 seconds it just checks if the clock rates match the ones from VSH’s config files that you set earlier. This doesn’t impact performance as tested by many users, and will only re-apply your overclock settings if there is a mismatch.
- Games like wipeout, world of final fantasy reset clock rates at certain points in the game! – Myth!
- Certain games reset clock rates at sleep! – Myth!
- Certain games boot with a custom clock rate – Myth!
Final notes and conclusion:
PSV VSH Menu is relatively easy to install. Just follow the instructions provided in the README. Well that’s all for now. If you have any issues please report them on the project’s issue tracker. I hope this fixes any issues that users may have had in the past. I’m always open to suggestions!
